Science, design, and cooking have come together for this concept called Living Foods. Minsu Kim, a Design/Biology/Robotics student has proposed the use of synthetic biology in fine dining. The plates would carry living organisms for consumption. Once the diner could get over the fact that their dish is breathing, pulsating, and/or writhing, Kim insists the mad science experiment is delicious. Kim says that every element of the food is designed, such as taste, texture, smell, and ambience. The question though is, would you eat it? Would you look at your dish as a life-form or something just resembling that?
